4-star commitment shows out
Traevon Kenion dominated the 1-on-1 portion of the afternoon session. The Gamecocks’ 4-star commitment from Monroe (N.C.) High School showed off his athleticism, ball skills and speed, which made him virtually un-guardable for defensive backs during the competitive period on Tuesday.
After each rep, tight ends coach Pat Washington offered a few pointers for Kenion, who was very engaged throughout the afternoon. The coach and prospect were also spotted leaving the practice fields when camp ended.
According to the 247Sports composite, Kenion is ranked as the No. 47 wide receiver in the Class of 2019. He’ll play tight end at South Carolina.

The group from Memphis
Four-star athlete Keveon Mullins, who’s South Carolina’s board as a wide receiver, was put through the paces by offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon. Several Gamecocks assistants stopped by for a look during the 1-on-1 session, including quarterbacks coach Dan Werner, running backs coach Bobby Bentley and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.
Muschamp, of course, was right there, too, and he got a few minutes of face time once McClendon was finished with the 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect.
Mullins wasn’t the only prospect of note from Whitehaven High School (Memphis, Tenn.) who went through individual workouts with South Carolina’s coaches. Linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler and defensive ends coach Mike Peterson both went through drill work with 2020 prospects Bryson Eason and Martavius French.
Eason, a 6-foot-1, 238-pound 4-star linebacker, lists offers from Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and LSU. French, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound 3-star linebacker, has offers from Arkansas, Florida and LSU.

Standout wide receiver
Ze’Vian Capers, a 2020 wide receiver from Denmark High School in Alpharetta, Ga., got plenty of attention from South Carolina’s coaches — Muschamp, McClendon, Hutzler and Robinson.
Hutzler, who recruits the Atlanta area, made his way over to the wide receivers and defensive backs so he could watch Capers during 1-on-1 work. Robinson, as he tends to do with wide receivers during camp, engaged in some friendly trash talk throughout the afternoon.
Muschamp pulled Capers (6-4, 200) aside for some face time time. Capers is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 87 overall prospect in the Class of 2020.
Jaiden Francois was among the top defensive backs on Tuesday.

Jaiden Francois was among the top defensive backs. The 6-foot, 185-pound safety from South Dade High School (Homestead, Fla.) has offers from Georgia and Miami. Muschamp was spotted talking with Francois during 1-on-1 work.
Dameon Wilson, a 2021 linebacker from Kings Mountain (N.C.) High School, picked up his offer from South Carolina in March, just days before he visited for the spring game.
Two teammates from Woodbridge (Va.) High School camped on Tuesday: linebacker Antoine Sampah (6-1, 203) and offensive lineman Reuben Adams (6-3, 280).
Sampah, who’s the No. 1-ranked outside linebacker by 247Sports in the Class of 2020, has offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Adams has Maryland and Rutgers offers
