Now that Maryland has left, what will the ACC do?

1. Probably find a replacement. To me the two most logical choices are Louisville and UConn which both have excellent basketball traditions. Of the two UConn makes the most senese geographicaly and you would also renew their rivalry with Syracuse.

2. The next question is will FSU now bolt? If they do, would the Big 12(sic) reach out to another school to really have 12? (maybe Clemson?)

3. And if FSU and MD both go would we see any truth to the rumors aboiut UNC and NC State wanting to join the SEC? Because of the TV markets the SEC would get, I think the league would certainly take a listen to them

In the short term, they'll find a replacement for Maryland (probably UConn). I would bet that FSU is looking for options to get out (ie, the Big 12). Another rumor is that the Big 10 might be looking to UNC, UVa, and/or Ga. Tech (AAU schools and would expand the footprint).

As for the SEC, who knows? I would think one NC school and one Va. school would be the ideal situation for expansion. Whether that's UNC/UVa or NCSU/Va. Tech or some other combo is the question.

The SEC should focus on creating the "SEC Network". The SEC will make a lot of money having its own network. The ACC will probably go after Uconn. FSU will probably leave the ACC for the Big 12 because it is a better football conference than the ACC.
