The Gamecocks still have to work to keep LB Sherrod Pittman
Dec. 11, 2014
The Gamecocks still have to work to keep LB Sherrod Pittman of Jacksonville in the fold. Though he said Thursday he’s 100% committed, Pittman would not say he’s ready to shut down his recruiting even though he’s a mid-year graduate. In fact, he said he might hold off signing his financial aid agreement.
“I don’t want to sign too early and then might switch my mind up,” Pittman said.
Florida is back at work with Pittman again who said new coach McElwain recently followed him on Twitter and he’s been in touch with Florida recruiters who were by his school earlier this week.
“I might take a visit to Florida,” he said. “My commitment to South Carolina is still good but I’m not quite ready to shut it down. It might be early January before I’m shutting it down.”
Pittman said he’s been in touch with USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. who was in to see him last week. Pittman has been a Gamecock commitment since July of 2013.
