South Carolina’s defense has some redeeming to do and the pressure to succeed weighs heavier on those shoulders now that a freshman is leading the Gamecocks offense.

It was a poor second half showing in the season opener in Charlotte. After defending their end zone and limited North Carolina scoring to four field goal attempts, the Gamecocks defense could not hold on to an 11-point lead with less than a quarter and a half to play. Back-to-back 90-plus yard touchdown drives were surrendered due to lack of execution, lack of tackling, passes that should have been intercepted and more. (VIEW ARTICLE) FREE 247SPORTS

I thought this was a "coaches Hot Seat" thread.  :D

Our guy has moved up to #6.

If things don't turn around significantly, I feel Champ should be. If he is not, then Tanner needs to be. He was a great Baseball coach, but maybe not so great AD when it comes to picking coaches. Either way, lots of people questioned hiring Champ and just keeping him around could start affecting donations. We have been making some great improvements around the entire campus. It would be bad to loose those big money fans.

I have not really thought about who would make a good replacement. I would rather see Champ get this thing fixed and keep up the good recruiting to make it even better. We got some good players, and more on the way. Got to keep that trend going.
