I re-watch the game this morning. Certain players getting consistently beaten, and our line just getting driven back, etc.

I think this is much ado about nothing. There were a couple of times a player got beat, but it was not any one guy getting beaten any more than any others. There were a couple of missed blocks, and stuff like that.

Whether we want to accept it or not, UAB was lining 8 and 9 guys in the box on almost every single 1st and 2nd down. They would line up with 5 DL, and 2 backers, or 4 and 3. They were cheating their CB over. I did the math on a calculator, and that is 8. On almost half of the 1st downs, or if it was an obvious running down, they would bring their safety up. That makes 9. It is extremely difficult for 5 guys to block 8, I don't care how good they are. This was evidenced by Bama getting sacked 6 times by WKU, and getting many of their run plays blown up in the backfield. We averaged over 4 yds a carry, even with them selling out for the run.

Whether it's CB, WR, backup QB, or the OL, we have a very well-coached team, with good players at pretty much every position, with some great ones sprinkled in. Does this mean we will go undefeated? Probably not, but you never know. I don't see any glaring weakness on this team that other teams are going to be able to exploit. If they want to sell out to stop Marcus, we will just start bombing it to Bruce, Damiere, Ace, and my boy DL.
