This game is between 2 very evenly matched teams in terms of talent. For difference makers, on D, they have Jarvis Jones, we have Jadaveon Clowney. On O, they have the 2 frosh RB's, we have an All American in Latt. Despite Murray's gaudier stats, I think the QB's are fairly evenly matched. Their effectiveness will be determined by the pass rush each faces. I think we are slightly better upfront on both lines. They have more playmakers on offense but will miss the reliability of Bennett on 3rd down.

This is not a new observation, but I think the biggest key by far is limiting their big plays. If we do that, we will win. We are not an explosive offense. Our scores are usually run oriented with short throws mixed in and take time off the clock. We can't have 10-15 play drives and have Georgia answer with long runs or passes over the top that last only a few plays. It will demoralize us and make it too tough on our offense. We are a very difficult team to mount long drives on. We play the run tough and and in a long drive involving a lot of plays, you can count on our D to create negative plays and put their O in some third and longs. Then our front four is unleased and it's game over. If we can keep GA from breaking runs of over 20 yards and exploiting our blitz for long pass plays when we bring it, we'll win this game comfortably. Spurrier will scheme to create opportunities for Shaw and the receivers when they play 8+ in the box which they will at the beginning of the game. They will not allow Latt to get off early. However, we can move the ball with a combination of Latt, the zone read with Connor keeping and the short passes to Ace and Bruce off play action. I also look for Damiere early to go deep off play action to keep their safeties more than 6-8 yds. off the LOS. In the 2nd half, if we keep the score close or get the lead, I look for Spurrier to go to Latt like he has the last 2 years and wear the Dawgs out.

I believe this game sets up well for us if we eliminate the long scoring plays. Maybe easier said than done but I think that will be the key. Should be exciting
