The latest on 4-star DL Stephon Wynn Jr.

May 21, 2017

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Four-star DE Stephon Wynn Jr. will be back home in South Carolina this summer.

Wynn, who attended the EPT Showcase at Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., on Sunday, will travel to IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) on Monday morning to finish the semester. At the end of the week, Wynn will return home to Anderson, S.C., where he’ll remain for most of the next seven weeks.

When asked about a return visit to see South Carolina, he said: “It’s possible. Nothing is in concrete yet.”

A trip to Alabama is in the works for Wynn the first part of June, and he hopes to travel to Ohio State.

Since Will Muschamp’s arrival, Wynn has visited South Carolina “around” six times.

“I feel like they recruit me pretty hard,” Wynn said. “It’s hard for me to come visit them, since I’m at IMG. … They still recruit me pretty hard. I still talk to them almost every week.”

Wynn (6-foot-4, 260) is ranked by the 247Sports composite as the No. 4 strongside defensive end in the Class of 2018.

Along with the aforementioned schools, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee are also in the mix. Clemson, where his father played, isn’t really in the mix any longer.

Several factors will be considered as Wynn approaches his decision, which he hopes to make before the end of the summer.

“The main thing is education, somewhere I can get the best degree, because education is big in my family. … The next thing is family, somewhere I can call home for the next 30, 40 years. Whenever I graduate, that’s still my college,” Wynn said.
