The Lost Colony

I've been going to the Outer Banks pretty much every summer since I was 6 months old, and the legend of the Lost Colony is still as steeped in mystery as it was when I was a kid. Awesome new NPR story about it today highlights one of the most enduring mysteries of the colonial age.

Given that DNA from the settlers has been found among descendants of the Croatoan tribe, I'd sau the odds are better than even that they were assimilated by the tribe.
