Folks, the big boards are awash in toxicity right now - people are ready to run Shane and especially Satt out of town on a rail. Should we manage to win on Saturday (I think we do, comfortably), we will be underdogs - sometimes BIG underdogs - in the remining games of the season, and could conceivably finish with 5 losses in a row. And some of those games, like aTm, could get FUGLY. How will the fans be then?

I hate to say it it, but a lot could come down to *how* we lose. Last year's absolute woodshedding by the Aggies sealed Muschamp's fate. I remember thinking during the 0-11 year that even though we lost every game, as we went along, the team felt like it was working hard and getting closer. We didn't feel like an 0-11 team even though that's what the record said. This year, in all likelihood, we are about to be 4-3 but we don't feel nearly as good as that record would indicate, at least not yet.

I put it to you that it would be possible to still lose those last 5 games, and feel better about the second half of the season than we did the 4-3 start to it, which has left many of us with a solid case of the "what the %^&s."

I guess it will all come out in the wash.

A certain segment of fans will not realize that the back end of the schedule was full of L’s.  Trying to understand how anyone would want to fire a coach after 1 year of taking over a 2 win team is beyond me.   Those fans are unrealistic in thinking that we are some kind of powerhouse football program that the top coaches are just falling all over themselves to come and coach.

I mean it had to be expected that Shane and staff would go through some growing pains as coaches.

Nope we were supposed to win 9 games and go to the Outback bowl this year. Unacceptable!

sarcasm font.

I’m amazed at some of the stupidity that people are saying. We all had hopes that this would be a magical season, and the team would blow us all away, but we also all knew that we had a lot of problems, and it was going to take time to fix them. Our defense is worlds better than last year. Our special teams are polar opposite of what they were. We have won more games this year than last year. We should double the number of wins, maybe more, if we get lucky.
Our offense is a bad. I don’t understand why some people want to bench Doty and go with Zeb. He won’t be here next year, and in a growing and learning year, Doty is gaining valuable playing time. He has a hurt foot, so he’s not 100%, not to mention, he usually has D-linemen all over him. When he has had time to throw, I think he’s done a great job. Our receivers drop balls frequently, but some people want to blame Doty. I don’t get it.
But the most important thing I have seen on the field is that this team hasn’t quit. They continue to fight and try, which is a whole lot better than the crap we’ve seen over the last few years.
Beamer can’t fix in one year, what Muschamp destroyed over several years.

Unless utter incompetence reveals itself Shane deserves at least 5 years assuming we're seeing steady progress and improvement over that time span.

Hey, I  had South Carolina going 6 and 6 at first of the year was almost laughed off the boards but hey I see maybe 5 wins this year, and with an upset here or there it could happen.  I almost sank yesterday as I had learned that Delp would not be an Gamecock at about 1 pm yesterday people had called me the day before to say hey he's Georgia Bound.

With that said Beamer is not the savior of the program he needs help big time, he will have to sell an bigger dream to these kids today, all of them want to go where they can win an Championship right now no one wants to come to an average program .   Georgia has it all now the facility it takes to win with  the fans , the town at Athens it's an great town.

Florida has the golden tan girls and can say we have won it all here, Carolina get's to say hey we got good facilities some of the best the other schools are have banner's hung.  It's going to be an while guys CAROLINA will not spend the monies to get an big time coach, Shane is good but he has an lot to overcome here .

I would have been just as pissed if we had only lost by one point to the Vols.

Hope this helps.  LOL
