Top 4 as it stands now would be a balanced representation from across the good ole U.S.A.

Two MidWest teams in the top 4 (2 BIG10) -- not balanced, geographically nor conference wise. Although, BIG10 play will eliminate one of the two from a 4 team playoff.

Ideally, a PAC team would be in there for balance, but strength of schedule is just not there.

If you're target is to have the best teams in the playoffs (and not simply conference champions), "balance" is going to be tough to achieve.
