don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I just have a bad feeling about it so I at least want to bring it to everyone's attention so it doesn't blindside us one day down the road. Some of you may think I am completely out in left field and that could be true, but at least keep this on your radar.

Spurrier is not stressed out in this job. He isn't looking for another job. He isn't trying to "make a name for himself." His situation is very different than almost every other coaches in the country. He is here to do things that have never been done at SC and to enjoy the challenge. But I also think that Spurrier isn't going to put up with as much as some other coaches might simply because he doesn't have to. He doesn't need to put up with crap so that he can get a bigger job. Also, Spurrier, as much as I love him, has left other jobs very quickly before without a ton of notice.

I just worry that while many people just see Ron Morris and Josh Kendall as annoying little losers, that those losers might have a slim chance to push Spurrier out of coaching a year or two before he would want to do it otherwise. I just read in another thread where Spurrier supposedly told one of his friends that dealing with the local media was the most difficult part of his job.

In the last two seasons, Spurrier has now twice taken an action after Ron Morris wrote something and then been called to task for that action by other media members. That is one thing about he media. If someone stands up to the media (Spurrier), all the rest are going to pull out the pen and go to work because the pen is their only weapon. But they get nasty.

Spurrier believes that he is more than accommodating to the media and tries his best to have a good relationship with them and tries to give them what they want. Not every coach comes over after practice and talks to the media like Spurrier has always done. There are a lot of situations where he goes out of his way for the media.

Spurrier basically did nothing in this situation except didn't take questions. He wasn't in a bad mood. He wasn't accusatory. He just didn't take questions. In two days, it is now all over CBSsports, Yahoo Sports, ESPN, etc. I just think a guy like Spurrier that is in his last 60s might say to himself "I just don't need all of this social media crap" and these local losers starting it all.

It is an absolute fact that the internet has turned up the heat on anyone that is in the public eye. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be a public figure these days with how the media just will not stop until you are hammered into a pulp.

So whats the reason for this post? I honestly don't know if there is anything that can be done or not, but I know that if I started to even get a sense that a low life like Ron Morris was going to actually have an impact on how long the HBC was going to stay at SC, I would hope that the Gamecock Nation could try to intervene. I have no idea how and, of course I mean within the confines of the law, but I just would hate to see Spurrier hang it up because of some dirt bag like Ron Morris or Josh Kendall.
