The truest (and scariest) quote on the coaching search so far

It's a paraphrase, but in a nutshell: "We have the young and up-and-coming head coaches of four ranked programs interested in the HC job here, and the administration and a large portion of the fanbase seems interested in hiring a guy with zero coordinator experience, let alone a single day being a HC. So Carolina."

Yep.

My prayer is Caslen is in charge here. I have no faith in Tanner. He is not a good at hiring or firing. From what I been told that is the case.

Seems all roads might have an Beamer lean as of now,  Napier maybe passing thought now. Freeze  UT bound or staying put.

Smdh...if tanner is part of the problem why is he allowed to be part of solution?

lol still trying to figure that one out along with why Champ tenure here should have end 2 years earlier. Tanner has the baseball mentality. Baseball long season all teams have slumps during the seasons and you come out because so  many more games allow it. Football short season and you keep thinking he will play his way out of a slump. Does not work that way in football. These days you should know by year 3 in football  where your program is heading. Just wish we had a AD  that new football. Football is the golden crown of school income. Only make sense to have a football experience AD in charge of everything.  Just me though.

Anyhow here are a few updates going on in the coach search.

Gamecocks have interviewed in person Coastal Carolina coach Jamey Chadwell and are scheduled for in-person interviews with Oklahoma assistant head coach Shane Beamer and Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield after Thanksgiving. Weekend and next week might have a new coach the deadline for new hire is by Dec. 15.

Not too rare - will be interesting to see if they stay for bowl game, etc. You want to get that contract signed and the BOT voted on it before they can boogie off if a "better" job opens, etc.

I know some of the commits' can offend some fans. But I am not the type to follow the leader over the top of the empire state building. You can put sugar over a crap pile, but still going to smile and taste's like crap. Right now this program has been turned in to a real pile of shit. Yes I give Tanner high marks on the stadium upgrades and the million dollar Gamecock. But I would gladly sit in a gravel pit with rocks sticking in my ass as pain shoots through my body to have what Clemson has now.

Seems awkward to announce new coach before season ends.
Will be done by then because of the early signing period in football. Has been stated in other news outlets as well

All because of one single screw up. I still don't think this will be Ray's decision.
Agree I was told the Pres. is in charge but Tanner is the front man looking like the fearless leader.

Dec 15th is the deadline???  Doesn't the early signing period start Dec 16?  So we hire a coach and he has maybe 12 hours to call and secure recruits?  This hire needs to be done by the middle of next week, maybe end of next week at the latest.

Yes Dec 16 if anyone is left to sign lost 3 today for total of 4 leaving 12 still committed. Was going to put all the commits on our recruiting board but will wat till Dec. 16 might only be an handful by then. To see who they are just go to the recruiting forum.
