Arkansas figures to  be our first real SEC test so I'm glad it's here, where we play much better. The offense has to get it going for this one. Here's the full preview from Gamecocksonline:

No. 8 South Carolina will have a tough test when No. 13 Arkansas visits Stone Stadium on Sept. 29. Arkansas enters with a 7-1-1 (1-0-0 SEC) record, including a 2-0 win over then-No. 1 North Carolina on Sept. 15. The Razorbacks have a standout freshman in Anna Podojil, who has scored six goals and assisted on three more. Her 15 points leads the team followed by junior Parker Goins, who has scored three goals and added six assists. In goal it's been Katie Lund, who has allowed just two goals in nine matches. She's made 21 saves and has not allowed a goal in her last six matches.

The Ladies soccer team had a good week, posting a 5-2 victory at Alabama and a 1-0 victory over #13 Arkansas.

Next for the team are the Missouri Tigers at MO on Friday.  Go Cocks.

No. 7 South Carolina women's soccer (9-1-0, 4-0-0 SEC) shut out its seventh opponent of the 2019 season with a 1-0 victory over Missouri on Friday night. Junior forward Luciana Zullo scored the second half game winner to give the Gamecocks the road victory.

No. 7 South Carolina women's soccer (11-1-0, 5-0-0 SEC) picked up its third-straight 1-0 win on Thursday night on the road against Kentucky (5-7-2, 0-5-0 SEC). Junior forward Ryan Gareis scored her fourth goal of the season to seal the Carolina win.

The win for the Gamecocks is the fourth-straight shutout over the Wildcats. Gareis' goal also gives the Gamecocks four different individuals with four goals this season.

Who was our loss to?
Unfortunately, to that other team......

The Gamecocks came away with a 0-0 tie with Vanderbilt Sunday, which brings their record to 11-1-1 (5-0-1) . The Gamecocks have only allowed one SEC opponent to score against them, that being Alabama, and that was a score-fest 5-2 for USC. Otherwise, they have out-scored the other 5 conference opponents 6-0, and that includes the scoreless tie with Vandy. The Gamecocks host 8-5-1 (2-4-0) Tennessee this Friday at 7:00 pm. The game will be televised on the SECN+ channel....

Big week ahead! Preview from Gamecocksonline.com:

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 8 South Carolina women's soccer wraps up its final full week of the SEC regular season by hosting Ole Miss on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium and then will travel to No. 20 Florida on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m.

GAMECOCKS TO HONOR SENIOR CLASS ON SENIOR NIGHT
No. 8 South Carolina women's soccer will honor five senior student-athletes on Oct. 24 against Ole Miss as a part of its annual Senior Night. The program will honor Mikayla Krzeczowski, Elexa Bahr, Tatumn Milazzo, Rebecca Koch and Grace Fisk. Additionally, the program will honor two additional seniors in manager Sarah Kanuch and former player Kailey Mattison.

SCOUTING OLE MISS
Ole Miss (8-4-3, 2-2-3 SEC) comes to Stone Stadium for the first time since 2016. Carolina has won the last two meetings by a combined score of 4-0 with Bahr scoring the gamewinner back in 2017 for the Gamecocks. Ole Miss is coming off a tie to Alabama and a loss to Georgia, but has a win over Florida this season. The Rebels are led by Channing Foster who has netted eight goals and has a pair of assists. Julia Phillips has been dynamic for Ole Miss with five goals this season on just eight shots on goal. In goal Ashley Orkus has started all 15 matches this season and has a goals against average of 1.30 with 69 saves and a 76.7 save percentage. Ole Miss is 3-3-1 on the road this season.

SCOUTING FLORIDA
The always-tough Gators will host the Gamecocks on Oct. 27 in another ranked matchup. The Gators enter as the No. 20 ranked team in the latest polls with a record of 10-5-0 (6-1-0 SEC) and sit just one point behind the Gamecocks in the East Division standings. Senior midfielder Vanessa Kara leads the Gators on the offensive end with eight goals this season, three being gamewinners. Cassidy Lindley is a factor on the offensive end with four goals and five assists. Susi Espinoza has been in goal for all 15 matches this season for Florida. She has a 1.33 goals against average, allowing a total of 20 goals this season with a 71.4 save percentage. The Gators will take on Tennessee on Oct. 24 prior to taking on the Gamecocks on Oct. 27.

Nice 2-0 win over Ole Miss on Senior Night to start off the home stretch right. Coupled with a Vol win over the Gators, that puts us back into second overall behind Arky with 2 games to go. Huge game in Gainesville on Sunday.

Next week is the final week of the season, with Florida on Sunday and Auburn on Thursday before the SEC tournament begins on Nov 3.  If SC takes care of business, they should receive an opening round buy from the first round of games.  I believe SC last won the SEC tournament in 2009.

Given how good our teams have been, it's amazing that 2009 was the only SEC tournament title in program history. That was an awesome game, beating LSU on PK's (8-7) to win it all. On the other hand, if I had to choose, I'd rather keep picking up regular season titles, which gets us better seedings for the NCAAs. I hate having to pull for the Vols in anything, but a victory over Arky on Halloween sure would be nice.

I agree...I much rather would make a deep run in the NCAA than in the SEC, but they aren't mutually exclusive.  Maybe one year we can put together the trifecta.

I would love for the ladies to prove me wrong, but I don't think this year's team is quite as strong as the past several year's teams...we seem to be missing the offensive threat we've had previously.  Hopefully the ladies will make me eat crow.

"We played a talented team and I'm very proud of the team for coming back today after behind a goal, especially late in the second half. It is easy to feel like you can't do it, but they never gave up and did a really good job to continue that in both overtimes." [/COLOR] https://gamecocksonline.com/news/2019/10/27/womens-soccer-carolina-draws-with-no-20-florida-on-the-road.aspx

No. 8 South Carolina women's soccer (13-1-2, 7-0-3 SEC) finished the SEC season undefeated for the third time in four seasons with a 2-0 win over Auburn on the road on Thursday night. Elexa Bahr and Anna Patten netted goals in the win, with Bahr's being her fifth gamewinner and sixth overall goal in 2019. The win cements the South Carolina as the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament that is set to take place in Orange Beach, Ala., starting on Nov. 3. The Gamecocks will play the No. 6 seed, Georgia. Carolina defeated the Bulldogs earlier this season, 1-0.
