Aaron Thompson
USC target DE Aaron Thompson of Ft. Lauderdale said Tuesday night he had made up his mind between the Gamecocks and Maryland.  Thompson is a former Terrapin commitment who decommitted on Monday.  He visited USC last weekend.

“It was where I was most comfortable” Thompson said in explaining how he decided on his school.  He will publicly announce the decision and sign his letter of intent at 11:00 AM.

Clemson target DB K’Von Wallace of Highland Springs, VA went to bed Tuesday night not 100% certain on his decision, but pretty close.

“I have an idea,” Wallace said Tuesday night saying he was still mulling over Clemson, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Ohio State and Cincinnati.  He has been committed to the Bearcats.  “There’s not much doubt.”

Wallace said he talked Tuesday with Dabo Swinney as well as the head coaches from Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.  As for what he likes the most about the school at the top of his list, Wallace said “the coaches, the staff and everything.”

Wallace is set to announce his decision Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM.

USC will not sign long time commitment OL Lloyd Cushenberry of Geismar, LA.  According to a contact in Mississippi, Cushenberry will sign with Mississippi State.  Cushenberry committed to the previous USC staff last August and was recruited by the new staff but never made an official visit.  He did take official visits to Minnesota and Mississippi State.

His deletion from the class leaves USC with 21 newcomers for 2016.  That number will be 20 if WR Diondre Champaigne signs with Jones JC, MS and not the Gamecocks.  Six of the commitments enrolled early meaning a minimum of 14 (or 15)  will sign Wednesday.  Unofficially the Gamecocks have 65 players on scholarship from last year still in the program, a number subject to change as players may leave during or after spring practice.   At this point the Gamecocks have  room to add 20 players to put them at the 85 limit for the fall.
