It occurred to me last night that there's a decent chance that CU will be 10-1 or 11-0 when they play our Gamecocks in November. I don't say that because I think they're a juggernaut. I say that because FSU and USC are the only teams left on their schedule who stack up with them from a talent standpoint. Granted, Clemson always seems to lose a game or two they shouldn't, but I'd be stunned if that happens this year with how the ACC looks right now. Anyone see the BC, Wake, Maryland, NC State, etc. games yesterday? Personally, I think the ACC will be worse this year than in 2011, and that's saying a lot.
With our difficult schedule, and some bounces here and there, we could literally be 7-4 or 6-5 heading into CU week ... and still be the better team. While they get a slate of cupcakes, we get Missouri, Georgia, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, and Florida (not to mention a trip to UK where we seem to struggle). Not complaining about the situation, as I'd MUCH rather be in the SEC (big boy football), but just pointing out what our records might look like heading into the big game. Go Cocks!
