The South Carolina football team lost one of its two commitments in the 2024 recruiting class on Tuesday. Three-star DB Karson Hobbs announced he was breaking his pledge to the Gamecocks via Twitter. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner is from Cincinnati, Ohio and was offered by the Gamecocks on June 8. Hobbs announced on social media: “I would like to thank South Carolina and the coaches for overwhelming love and support they expressed to me after my acceptance into the Gamecocks community. I would also like to thank my family and friends for their support during this recruitment process. With that being said, I have decided to decommit from The University of South Carolina.”
Quarterback Dante Reno is now the team’s lone commitment for the future class. Hobbs this season has 19 tackles, six pass break-ups and an interception at Moeller High School.
