Greensboro, NC (Northern Guilford) three star junior running back CJ Freeman 5'11" 195lbs had an impressive junior season and is hoping to build off of his two scholarship offers.

"My season ended up great. We won the state championship and I ended up being the offensive MVP of the state championship game. I finished up with about 2,000 yards and around 28 touchdowns. I had an ankle injury in the middle of the season and missed about three games, but he season went really good for me."

Freeman currently holds offers from Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

"Recruitment is going good I guess. Right now, a lot of schools are waiting to see me in person. A lot of them have hit me up and heard about my season and invited me to their junior days so right now I am focusing on which junior days I want to visit. Every instate school has told me to visit and a lot of out of state schools too."

While more interest is coming in, the most constant contact Freeman is having is with the Hokies and the Gamecocks.

"Those programs have been reaching out to me for a long time. They definitely see something in me that they like. They are always contacting me, asking me how things are going and have really been on my tail since they offered me. They have both done a good job recruiting me and are the two schools on me the hardest right now."

This offseason, the 5-foot 11-inch running back prospect has stepped away from the basketball court and will focus on football visits before track season begins. While two schools will definitely get visits from Freeman, there are a handful of others that will as well.

"I know I will visit Virginia Tech and South Carolina. I will probably get to Tennessee, Louisville, Auburn and also the instate schools like Duke, UNC, ECU and State. Maybe also Penn State and UConn, I have started getting interest from them, so we may make a trip up there and maybe Vanderbilt as well.

"Things I am looking for are a good relationship with a coach. I want to feel comfortable around the coaching staff and the coaches that will be coaching me. Also, I want to see a good atmosphere around the campus, it should feel like a second home to me. I want to go to a program that will help you build yourself on the field and as a person. I want to go to a school that establishes relationships with their players."

Freeman is a three star running back and is number 17 in the state of North Carolina for the 2016 class.
