Thursday afternoon recruiting notes
Dec. 01, 2022
The smallest state is home to the biggest name in the Transfer Portal right now. OT Ajani Cornelius (6-5 315) developed into an all-conference performer at Rhode Island. He announced his plans to transfer on November 29th, and since then major programs from across the country have reached out with offers. South Carolina joined that group Thursday morning. Cornelius also has offers from Auburn, Oregon, Penn State, Indiana, Minnesota, Syracuse, Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, Temple, Akron, Marshall, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kansas, Washington State, Virginia, and Missouri. This season Cornelius started all 11 games at right tackle and he earned first-team All-CAA honors. He’s a native of White Plains, NY, and has two years of eligibility remaining.
South Carolina target WR Aziah Johnson is planning to take an official visit to Michigan State this weekend per 247Sports.
2024 WR Jordan Shipp of Charlotte, who has a South Carolina offer and interest from Clemson, was offered by Kentucky.
