After the Georgia game, I fell prey to the typical fan euphoria and predicted we'd run the table in the regular season. This is what I said about the LSU, Florida, and Tennessee games. Aside from the fact that I thought we'd win and we lost, my fears that I mentioned have in fact come true for the LSU and Florida games. I hope the Tennessee game goes as I suggested.

@LSU - (5-1, 1-1) We are a better team. We should win. We have to overcome the huge home field advantage there. Under Spurrier, we're 0-2 against them and 0-1 @ LSU.

@ Florida - (5-0, 4-0) We are a better team. We should win. However, we will certainly be scraped and nicked up by that point so our mental toughness has to be there. I actually fear this one more than the LSU game just because it's tough to play several weeks in a row under such intense scenarios. Under Spurrier, we're 3-4 against them and 1-2 @ Florida.

Tennessee - (3-2, 0-2) They are not very good overall but they have some very good skill players. They scored more on Georgia than we did. Their defense is not impressive. We might need to score some points to win this one, but then again, I thought we'd need to outscore Georgia in a shootout too. I was wrong. No doubt we should win this one. Under Spurrier, we're 4-3 against them and 2-1 at home.

Good call on all 3.

We have one of, if not the toughest schedule in the country this year. Sometimes a sense of entitlement takes over after a hyped win, and you get the mess we are dealing with our fans right now. It will fade away, and we will regain our sanity. We will realize that the circumstances were almost impossible for a team that had never been in the spot we were.

It is amazing how, after 2 very good years in the history of our program, that suddenly we think we are Bama. We think should just pop out of obscurity into the limelight, and take the world by storm, even though that has, and never will happen in the modern era. You see teams build up, keep building, chipping away, and then MAYBE get there after several years of that. The same thing happened to Arky. As much as our fans want to dismiss it, we have several things working against us.

1) We are South Carolina, we are expected to lose, and have never been where we are.

2) We are at an EXTREME recruiting disadvantage. Why do Fla, Texas, Bama, jawja, and LSU and Co ALWAYS have the top recruiting classes in the country? It's where they are, and what they have done because of where they are. It's a cycle. We have some star players at positions. The other guys are 3 deep with star players at every position. We will never have that kind of depth. We will have to hit the jackpot on some key players, and have an out of the blue freak at a couple more to be able so sustain a schedule like the one we play and get through it.

3) Our fanbase is getting antsy. This will impede our progress. Fans will start going all Ron Morris on Spurrier after a couple 11-2 seasons. They will fail to appreciate just how far we have come, and turn on some players and coaches. Fans will start booing the QB, or WR, or whoever it is, and he will just retire. Then, we will see bad teams again.
