Since Gurley could possibly see playing time this year, can anyone tell me about this kid? How did he perform in the scrimmage? It was noted that he was trying to kill the offensive players, but can he cover? What was he rated coming outta hs?

He was a middle tier 3 star prospect coming out of high school with a really solid offer sheet (Arkansas, Miss State, Tennessee, GaTech, Illinois). He is from Cairo, Georgia which is in south Georgia (an area that USC struggles with) and is an area that is typically mined by Georgia and the Florida Schools. He has the size Lorenzo Ward likes in his defensive backs @ 5'10 and the versatility to move around the 4 spots. He was a guy that recruiting analyst really liked, particularily the guys that cover the state of Georgia. He worked out at Corner and Safety during camps last Summer. Long term, there is no doubt he is a Safety but has experience playing some Corner so it shouldn't be a huge transition for him if he needs to play.

Honestly, I am quite surprised that he has gotten more "talk" the past week than Chaz Elder, Mr. All American, has the whole preseason.
