to have gone to another school that is a perennial powerhouse, but you came to our beloved USC! It would have been so easy to go where you could join the biggest and fastest just so you wouldn't have to sell out on every play because some other monster would take up your slack. You could have gone to a weaker conference and looked great because you didn't have to line up against the nations best every week and would be guaranteed a majority of easy games.
No, you came to South Carolina, because you knew you COULD make a difference, even though you had to stare a bowl game in the face every week. You had enough confidence to know you were ready to line up against the best and were willing to take the risk. If you don't take a risk in this life you will never reach the promised land. Well, you have taken that risk here and that brings me to my point. THAT is what sets you apart from all the other players who chose a so called "better program". Those other players for the most part are just jumping on a bandwagon whose fans and players don't have a clue what it means to have a losing season. Those fans are spoiled and thin skined.
Well guys, the fans who pull for the gamecocks are not thin skinned, though sometimes we want it so bad we say stupid things, and it is not lost on us the sacrifice and the risk you took because you BELIEVED you could make a difference at USC. WELL YOU HAVE! And for that we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the nod. We will never take the nod you gave us for granted! Your risk has paid off and you are causing a lot of the other team's "spoiled" fans a lot of misery. You have shown by your commitment and play that we can win here, and win often. And you don't have to take your hat's off to anybody in the SEC, much less the nation.
