Top 4 star RB target Master Teague III sees first game at South Carolina

Four-star running back Master Teague III returned to South Carolina on Saturday for his first game at Williams-Brice Stadium.
The 2018 prospect from Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., was on campus in July for the Gamecocks’ cookout. He saw South Carolina win its final home game of the season, 44-31 over Western Carolina.
“It was a great to finally experience the game atmosphere at South Carolina,” Teague said. “It was great seeing (running backs) coach (Bobby) Bentley and getting some alone time with coach (Will) Muschamp.”
This season, Teague finished with 2,059 yards and 24 touchdowns, even though he missed two games because of a concussion.
“(Muschamp) said that God has given me something special and they would love for me to play at South Carolina,” Teague said. “He talked about how they practice and how they focus on academics.”
Teague liked what he saw from freshman running back Rico Dowdle, who rushed for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Gamecocks.
“It was just as coach Bentley and coach Muschamp told me,” Teague said. “They have a featured running back and other good backs to share the load. They run the same kind of offense we run at my high school.”
The atmosphere inside Williams-Brice also made a good impression.
“It was great,” Teague said. “You can tell the fans (young and old) really care for their team.”
He added, “South Carolina is one of my favorites right now.”

This fall, he’s taken game day visits to Tennessee, Louisville, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee. All but the Buckeyes have offered.
Teague is planning to announce a decision at some point next summer.
According to the 247Sports composite, Teague is the No. 16 ranked running back in the Class of 2018.
