Well, we could use some good news about the secondary.  Looking forward to see how they perform come Eastern Ill. 

 
I am harboring this hope deep down inside, that our talent wasn't the problem the last several years, that it was coaching, and that we are going to explode on the scene, and shock the college football world.  

Articles like this fan the flame of that hope.

 
High praise for Cam Smith.  I like everything I'm hearing from these coaches right now.

 
While we certainly need better talent, there is no question in my mind that coaching was a large part of this team's dysfunction.  This roster was not terrible when CSB came here, but I do feel he has made it better in certain positions.  I can't imagine the coaching being worse than the last staff!

Good points all around. I don't think talent was our main issue the past few years. Game day coaching, passion, giving a rat's ass about your team and teammates. 

 
There has been numerous players from the last few years playing on Sundays now, talent wasn't the problem. Injuries and coaching cost a lot of games over the past few years. 

Not saying we win 10+ but I do think the new coaching staff wins us a few games this season that we would have otherwise lost. 

I'm still thinking 5-6 wins. 

 
We lacked the team atmosphere the last few years with the last staff.  It seems the goal was to recruit players that could play in the NFL - the recruiting pitch of we can get you to the next level.  That is fine to be 1 part of recruiting, but it seemed like we had too many selfish players and I guess coaches.  I didn't see that strong team bond that I believe is necessary to win at all levels of competition.

And yes, the injuries under CWM were bad.  Not sure why, but we had way too many injuries.
