First and foremost, this is yet another example of why you should always choose a school, not a coach. These two kids who are leaving are making a decision as if it's a certainty that they will be paid to play basketball for a living while they really should be making a decision based on where they can get their free education. They are making a basketball decision instead of a life decision. It might turn out to be a great decision for both of them, and I hope it does. I wish them both the best. However, the last few days have been a circus, and it's been that way because of leaks, and sources, and web page reporters, and parents who seem to enjoy doing interviews, and high school coaches who get to return to the forefront as liaisons between kids and college coaches again, etc.

I hope these kids make good choices now. Clearly this wasn't where they wanted to be.

They didn't grow up attending all the games like many of us. They don't look at USC as their dream school. They look at it as an opportunity. To get on here and call them names and insult them is pretty stupid. We rant about people transferring out, but we welcome transfers coming in. Same deal with recruiting. We rip the hell out of any South Carolina kid who picks Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, etc. but we love it when a kid from another state spurns his home state school to come play for us. That's called being a fan. It defies logic. No reason to be a butthead though.

We have a coach now who appears to have better recruiting skills and contacts than anyone we've had in years and years. If we have to suffer through a miserable 2012-2013 season in order to get great returns in the future, so be it. I'd do 0-11 all over again in football if I knew the light at the end of the tunnel was the success we're looking at now
