Freshman sensation McCall has first offer

Freshman quarterback Avery McCall, who led Dillon to the 2A-Division 1 state championship last week, has his first offer. Dillon coach Jackie Hayes said Monday McCall has been offered by East Carolina. Hayes has compared McCall to former Myrtle Beach and current Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson. In the state championship game victory over Fairfield Central McCall passed for 128 yards and three touchdowns. Hayes expects him to be one of the top recruits in the nation by his senior season.
Hayes said junior LB Joe Blue has offers from USC, Florida, LSU, Southern Cal, Tennessee, NC State, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Alabama. Clemson also is showing interest and Tiger recruiter Robbie Caldwell was by the school last week. East Carolina also was in last week and USC scouted him last Friday in the state championship game. Blue has named USC and Florida as his favorites right now.
And Dillon junior DL Jaylen Washington is drawing interest from USC, Clemson, NC State, Virginia Tech and East Carolina. He has not been offered.
