As the summer basketball circuit is in full swing, 247Sports updated its Top247 for the Class of 2020on Wednesday afternoon. When it comes to targets South Carolina is locked in on, most of them saw their positive movements in the ranking.

First, a look at in-state recruiting. The back-to-back-to-back state championship Dorman duo of forward P.J. Hall and point guard Myles Tate have been heavily tied to the Gamecocks men’s basketball program since their sophomore campaigns. Both have formed strong relationships with head coach Frank Martin and were regular visitors of the program last season. (READ FULL ARTICLE) 247SPORTS FREE ARTICLE

This is a great article. Gamecock fans have been a little frustrated that our staff hasn't been able to pull more of the top in-state prep talent that has been produced in recent cycles. There's a question if the staff was working as hard as other staffs on the recruiting trail. This article shows at least we're getting out there, and offering top talent. Hopefully it results in actually getting 1 or 2 of them to come play for us....

If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it 20 times... I’m all in on Timberlake.  Get that kid!

Mr. Hall needs to be a top priority as well.  If we get both of those guys, I’ll be a VERY happy Gamecock.

Hannibal was a start, and Woods coming back would be awesome.

Getting BOTH Dorman kids (my alma mater, by the way) would be a huge step forward for this program.

Think about it.....the only times we have been relevant in basketball in the last 35 years was when we had a cluster of SC kids on this roster (you all can name them as well as I could).  Yes, Frank McGuire did wonders in getting kids out of New York, but that was an aberration in my opinion, and something we will never see happen again.
