Three-star safety Jonathan Gipson was among the 2018 recruits who visited on Friday. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect from Hoschton Ga. (Mill Creek) is ranked as the No. 42 safety in the country, according to Rivals.

Three-star defensive end signee Tyreek Johnson, who’s on track to enroll at South Carolina in January, watched defensive line coach Lance Thompson put campers through the paces on Friday afternoon.

Johnson, who was joined by several of his former teammates from Lakewood High School in Sumter, S.C., continues to recover from shoulder surgery, which he underwent earlier this year. He’s permitted to do almost every lift in the weight room right now.

Power cleans, under doctor’s orders, are not permitted at this time.

Three-star athlete Bryce Thompson (Irmo, S.C.) ended up participating in position drills and got 1-on-1 reps at both defensive back and wide receiver.

Thompson and 2019 athlete D.J. Chisolm (Berkeley, S.C.) were the among the top skill players working out at the camp. Safety commitment R.J. Roderick (Summerville, S.C.), like Thompson, went through position drills in the afternoon, after sitting out the morning portion of the camp.

At least there offers were dispensed at the camp: 2019 OT Jaelin Humphries (Lawrenceville, Ga.), 2019 OL Jacob Monk (Wendell, N.C.) and junior college wide receiver Ronald Jamison (Irmo, S.C.).

Georgia offered 2018 safety Israel Mukuamu on Friday afternoon, while he was on campus in Athens. After leaving there, he set off for South Carolina.

Mukuamu, who’s back in the state to announce a commitment at Berkeley High School, previously announced Florida State, Indiana and Oklahoma State as his finalists, to go along with South Carolina.
