Jay Urich
QB Jay Urich of Wren is drawing more and more looks from major programs and the offers are soon likely to follow. Missouri was in to watch him Tuesday and is talking about an offer. Duke will be in on Wednesday and he said he’s hearing a lot from Tennessee. Boston College and Indiana also have been by the school this month.
“It’s exciting,” Urich said. “This process is very exciting and I’m just trying to take it all in.”
USC was one of the first schools in to see Urich during this evaluation period and the Gamecocks have remained in constant contact since offering him in late April.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Roper, Coach Hutzler and Coach Bentley,” he said. “They really want me and they would really like me to commit. I like them a lot. I’m just making sure I make the right decision. I want to talk to my parents, pray about it and see what’s right for me.”
Urich said he will make another visit to USC this summer and will also check out some of the other top schools on his list. Some of his other offers are Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Wofford, East Tennessee, Harvard, SC State and Mercer. He does not have a timetable for a decision.
“Whenever I feel confident with something, I will make a decision,” Urich said.
