USC’s Elliott visits with OL target Derouen on Tuesday

The recruiters piled in Tuesday to see 3 star OL Trey Derouen 6'4" 305lbs of Lilburn, GA. USC offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was in along with recruiters from Florida, Kansas State and Louisville. Derouen visited Louisville last weekend and will take his official visit to USC this weekend. Elliott has gotten the Gamecocks in position to possibly close the deal this weekend.
“Coach Elliott does a great job and he’s really excited about the visit this weekend,” said Parkview coach Eric Godfree. “I wouldn’t be surprised if South Carolina works some magic this weekend. Just hearing him talk about South Carolina. You can tell he has a little more excitement in his tone.”
All the schools are recruiting Derouen as a guard. Elliott told him he would be one of four offensive linemen he’s bringing in this weekend for official visits. The others will be commitments Zack Bailey and Christian Pellage and target Sam Madden.
Derouen is scheduled to visit Florida January 30th but the Gators haven’t offered. With that the case, he’s considering changing that visit to Kansas State if he takes a visit that weekend. The Wildcats have been making a strong play for him.
