OK, here we go - the Battle of the Boastless. Kick-off is at 12:00 at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, TN., and will be broadcast on the SEC Network. We could sure use a win, if the Commodores would be ac-Commodating.....

Hill missed RB out of backfield on 2nd and 3rd downs, instead wanted to go long. No run plays

Lots of chippiness between both teams. There's been a light rain for most of the game. Coming out for the 2nd half, the chippiness and talking between the teams continue - we stop Vanderbilt to open the half, and they try a fake punt attempt for the first down, and we stop them. We get the ball back deep in Vandy's side of the field at the 35-yd line!

Gamecocks drive the 35 yds in 3 plays, with RB Kevin Harris galloping in for the touchdown on a 25-yd run.

17-0 Gamecocks....

 
Gamecocks respond to Vandy's response, and its turning into a bit of a shootout to start the 2nd half. USC drives 75 yds in 9 plays, with QB Collin Hill rushing in from the Vandy 10-yd line for his 2nd rushing TD of the game, and the Gamecocks extend their lead again to 24-7....

 
Gamecocks add a field goal from PK Parker White to extend the lead to 27-7. Vanderbilt stalls out on their own possession, and punt away the ball. On their first offensive play at 1st and 10 at the 12-yd line, Harris takes the hand-off and he's gone - 88 yds for the TD!! Harris now has 21 carries for 171 yds and 2 TDs. Gamecocks lead 34-7, 13 minutes left to play.....

 
Gamecocks hold Vandy to 5 plays and out, and get a short punt out of bounds for excellent field position at the Vandy 47. It's pouring rain.

Dak Joyner takes the hand-off all the way for 47 yds and scores!! A nice sign of killer-instinct from our new OC Mike Bobo. Gamecocks now lead 41-7....

 
Gamecocks win their first game of the 2020 season 41-7 over Vanderbilt, and improve to 1-2, (1-2). The Commodores fall to 0-3 (0-3). Next week the Gamecocks host Auburn at Williams-Brice for a 12:00 pm game....
