USC continues to build an impressive 2015 recruiting class with a commitment Saturday from 4 star DE Chauncey Rivers (6-3 232) of Stone Mountain, GA. Rivers made his commitment while on campus for an unofficial visit with his parents. "Today was my first time going up there and we fell in love with the education part and fell in love with the football program," Rivers said. "When they told me they really liked the program, and I really liked it, so we decided to make the decision today to just end the recruiting process." The heavily recruited Rivers also holds offers from Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, NC State, Southern Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt among

others.

He said Auburn and Florida were two others high up on his list. Last season Rivers, playing strictly defensive end with his hand down, totaled 67 tackles with 8 sacks. "I'm physical with good speed and I get off the line quickly," he said. "And I'm aggressive." Rivers was recruited by Lorenzo Ward and bought in to what the coach told him about how he would fit in with their defense. "I'm in love with the defense," he said. "They run a nice scheme and they told me they year I come in they will be low on defensive ends and I can come in and play as a freshman."

Rivers is the Gamecocks' fourth commitment for the 2015 class, the third defensive end and the second from Stone Mountain's Stephenson High School. His teammate, WR DJ Neal, committed to the Gamecocks in May. Rivers knows the recruiting won't stop despite his commitment, but as far as he's concerned, the commitment is solid. "100%," he said. "No wavering." Rivers said his father is 6-6 and he's projected to grow to be about 6-5 or 6-6.
