Despite suffering a broken leg in a basketball game Tuesday night and undergoing surgery Wednesday morning, the recruiting of DE Tega Wanogho Jr. of Elmore, AL continues at full blast according to his coach Bobby Carr. The best news, however, is that Wanogho should be completely recovered by the spring.

“The doctor said it was a clean break and the surgery went excellent and he should be good to go by May,” said Carr who himself had neck surgery this week.

Carr said every school that had offered Wanogho, including USC, has been in touch to affirm that the offer remains in place. And coaches haven’t stopped coming by.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) Hugh Freeze and Dan Mullen were by the hospital, and I think Nick Saban is coming by today,” Carr said. “Alabama hasn’t offered but I think they are going to today.”

USC recruiter Kirk Botkin met with Wanogho Monday according to Carr and he plans to make another visit.

“He’s coming back thru and one time he mentioned that Spurrier is coming with him next week,” Carr said. “That will be good. Hopefully we’ll get to meet coach Spurrier.”

Wanogho was scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend but he’s still in the hospital so that visit isn’t likely to happen this weekend. He is also scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend. He went to LSU last weekend.

Wanogho will not sign on February 4th and is expected to take some of his visits after National Signing Day. USC is under consideration for one of his remaining visits.
