USC commit Wilder is concerned about Spurrier’s future plans

USC commitments and high school teammates 4 star DB Antoine Wilder 5'11" 175lbsand 4 star DE Arden Key 6'6' 228lbs of Atlanta visited Alabama Tuesday. Wilder said they went with their defensive coordinator and met with Nick Saban. Wilder said while Alabama is not interested in him, the Crimson Tide is very interested in Key.
Key is going on an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend for the Alabama game. He also will take official visits to USC, LSU, Georgia and Miami and is considering Ole Miss and Oregon for his final visit.
Wilder and Key both say they remain committed to USC and they might come in to Columbia for the South Alabama game. Both recently visited Louisville. Wilder said he might visit Kentucky unofficially this weekend.
First and foremost on his mind right now, however, is USC though Wilder said he’d feel better if all doubt about Steve Spurrier’s coaching future there would be cleared up.
“Only concern I’ve got with South Carolina is is Steve Spurrier leaving,” Wilder said adding that he’s heard the talk from recruiters, fans and thru the Internet. “At his press conference, he said he’s not going nowhere. I believe Steve. I believe in what he stands for. I believe everything he says. If Steve says something, he means that, so I really believe he’s going to stay. But if he leaves, that’s going to be like, wow, you’re going to leave?”
Wilder said he’s solid with his commitment unless he’s blown away by another school on an official visit. He talked with his USC recruiter Grady Brown Tuesday night.
“I was just telling him to keep his head up and stay focused,” Wilder said. “In 2015 I really believe we’re going to shock the world. I’m really just focused on South Carolina to be honest with you. When I had my knee (injury) they didn’t back off. They were loyal to me.”
