USC jumped into the conversation with AC Flora WR/DB Denzel Johnson last weekend but now the Gamecocks have been dropped from consideration according to Johnson’s coach.
Flora coach Reggie Shaw said Tuesday USC wanted Johnson to go to Georgia Military JC for two years and then transfer, but Johnson is not interested in doing that. and he’s not interested in that. Shaw said USC doesn’t have the room to take Johnson in this class and thus has no reason to wait and see if he qualifies.
Clemson and UMass will wait on Johnson as he attempts to become academically eligible.
