USC’s loss at Florida dropped the Gamecocks from ninth to 17th in the latest AP top 25 poll. The Gamecocks are 16th in the Coaches poll. This is the 40th straight week USC has been ranked in the top 25.
USC is no longer the highest ranked team in the Palmetto State though. Clemson improved to 6-1 Saturday with a 38-18 win over Virginia Tech. The win kept the Tigers at 14th in the AP poll and moved them up to 13th in the Coaches ranking.
Clemson is on the road this week with a Thursday night matchup against Wake Forest. USC returns home to face Tennessee at noon Saturday.
Alabama still has the top spot in both polls. Oregon and Florida are second and third respectively in both rankings.
