Possible easy win/trap game for us.
Yes, I agree.  Here’s a few things that worry me:

1.) Vandy has had nine different starting lineups in the 2020-21 season.  Injury and COVID have bitten them almost as hard as us.  That means that at some point, their offensive identity will start to click.  (Hopefully that’s not tonight).

2.) to go along with pt. #1 above, Scottie Pippen, JR. is the only Commodores to have started all 12 games for Vandy this season.  He’s coming off of a 32 point game.  Pippen Jr. has scored at least 15 points in 10 straight games, the longest streak by a Vanderbilt player since John Jenkins in the 2011-12 season (19 straight). That is also the longest streak by any SEC player this season.  (HE has found his offensive identity)

3.) Vanderbilt has made at least four 3s in 27 consecutive games.  We will have to knock them off rhythm outside, and we need to be on our game from beyond the arc as well.  They can potentially be dangerous if we don’t defend well.

4.) Vanderbilt is returning almost their entire squad vs. the Gamecocks.  It will be one of the first games all season where they have mostly full bench depth.  Is this true for us as well?

5.) Jerry Stackhouse is focused on sharpening up Vanderbilt’s half-court defense. That will make some of our guards more prone to offensive fouls, and guard play has not come at a premium for the Gamecocks this season.  We will need to be extra focused to avoid costly scenarios on the offensive side of play.

Good stuff...

Bad game for us.   Frank has problems to solve.  Hope he can.

I don’t know why Frank keeps Leveque in the game.  He’s getting crushed under the basket and is a step slow every time they come at him.  Give Tre-Vaughn Minotte some time.  Give McCreary 4 minutes at a time and rotate with Minotte.  ANYTHING but Leveque at this point.

The entire team seems to be running in concrete.  What a sad state of affairs when you get the shit beat out of you by an 0-6 conference record team. smdh

The big question for me was, was the team going to be able to perform strongly in back-to-back games. Too often they would have solid to strong games, then follow them up with stinkers. Looks like we're having another one of those games, unfortunately....

We’ve got three VERY big disadvantages tonight.  1.) Leveque is abysmal and has more minutes than any big on the floor for us.  2.) Minaya left his brain in Columbia (2 rebs, 1 TO, 2 PF). 3.) Cousinard can’t buy a bucket.

Those things are a recipe for a huge L for the ‘Cocks.

Not a fun game to watch by any stretch.   And what is there to be excited about for the future of this team?  Some project players and that’s it.

When I am angry, I say things I later regret.    I'm frustrated.  But my frustration with USC basketball goes way back, and has lasted a long time.

To me, the only logical conclusion to reach from this game is that our players can't compete on a high level.  They don't have the skills.  Including the mental skills to compete in the SEC.  This is maybe Frank's worst team at USC.
Well, to be fair, our guys have had to deal with some ridiculous stuff, so the mental stuff would be hard, no matter who you are.  But I’m not seeing it from Leveque or from Seventh, for certain.  (And I don’t like being critical of individual kids, but they’ve just not been with us this season).

We need a point guard.   Hannibal is the closest we come to having one.   Couisnard isn't getting it done.  But this team has lots of issues.  Really disappointing.   Season is shaping up to be really bad.

Wasn't able to watch the game, but I had a couple of thoughts on the team after the UGA win:

1)  UGA didn't really play good defense; a real SEC team could shut us down with good zone defense.

2)  Another team would also run a fair amount of backdoor cuts on us.

3)  We left at least 12 points on the table from missed easy lay-ups.

I heard Frank say after the UGA game that he was still behind the curve from a stamina standpoint after his recent Covid diagnosis.

I will watch the second half tomorrow.  Why did we lose tonight?

For one we didn't play good defense tonight. Vandy shot north of 50% for much of the game, especially for most of the 2nd half, and they hit on a ton of 3-ptrs. We had a lot of turnovers, and a LOT of fouls 20+. Seventh Woods had 2-3 turnovers alone by dribbling the ball behind his back off of the heels of his shoes. Just lackluster play all around for the team, coming off of a strong win....
