41-29 Gamecock lead at halftime. Crazy thing is Lawson has put up a big fat goose egg for the 1st half - 0 pts on 0-5 shooting, but Couisnard showed up today to shoot 5-8 - 2-3 from the three - and score 15 1st half pts. He's our only double-digit scorer, but Center Tre-Vaughn Minott has made a strong appearance today - 3-3 shooting and 6 pts and 3 rebounds in 6 minutes. Unfortunately he also picked up 2 quick fouls, otherwise his contribution may have been much greater. Hopefully as Ace said above, these guys come out for the 2nd half and continue this effort....

Cousinard and Minotte’d confident play today seems to be catch-able.  Keyshawn hit a three?!!! (I mean come on).  Lawson hits his first shot of the game - a three.  Moss with an offensive rebound over a guy 3 inches taller.

Good things happening so far!

What I am seeing is UGA has cut 50% into our lead, and we're starting to make a ton of fouls. Not a good recipe.......

And as I typed this, USC goes 3-3, and stops the mini-momentum of UGA....

Basketball, as you well know, is a game of runs.  Ours have been longer so far, which is why we’ve held the lead.  If we can keep away from the senseless fouls, and not send UGA to the line too much, we’re in good shape so far.  Only thing missing in this game so far is a three from Nathan Nelson.

Keyshawn with his 2nd three pointer of the game.  What the heck?  Where did this team come from?

South Carolina has really shot well today....they didn't let off the gas in the 2nd half, and if anything stepped on it harder. Both Bryant and Hannibal have had very strong 2nd halves offensively......

@kingofnerf Are you happy with coach Martin today?  He was off the “bench” and yelling and coaching, as you always ask of him.  Posted 90+ on UGA as a result.

91-70 Gamecock win over UGA Bulldogs. The final score would have been even more decisive, if we didn't foul UGA so much, sending them to the FT line 27 times with the clock stopped. We fouled UGA more times in the 2nd half alone than UGA fouled us for the entire game. That's Frank Martin Basketball......

They did good today, but I am tired of the "instructional losses" which end up becoming "instructional losing seasons".

Frank probably thought his career was going to be over until the NCAA let us off the hook this week.

He's a human being like the rest of us, but he's got to put out some effort the rest of the way or go coach somewhere else.

Good to get a win.   Got off to a good start, which seems to really help us.   We need to get an early lead and try to maintain it.  Couisnard shot it well today.  Hope that continues.  Hannibal was outstanding.   I am comfortable with the ball in his hands.    He's becoming are really good guard.  Glad to see Minott have a great start.  If he can ever get into good shape, he can be a really good player.

There were some negatives in the game, but I don't want to spoil the mood by talking about them.

Good idea to skip the negatives, Gary. We have not had enough positives this year to spoil a dominant W.

UGA is not a bad team, and would have a winning SEC mark if they held to form and beat us twice. Which makes our two impressive wins even more impressive.

But this is what happens when you make open looks - we have not played that poorly this year, we just have not shot well - even though we are getting the looks we want.

I was looking at the SEC tournament - we have an elimination game against Vandy before the first day of the tournament, and we owe them. Then we would play Tennessee and Florida if we keep winning. UT has been inconsistent and we already beat the Gators, so there is a chance to make a little noise at the end - if we play like we did today.
We did some things really well today.   Its amazing how making shots affects the other parts of the game.    I like the "Cuban Pack Line" defense.   I think it has the potential to make us foul less, which is good.   When we are playing it well, it tries to make the opponent take threes, which is the shot I am least afraid of.   I'd much rather the opponent shoot threes than to shoot layups.     Offensively, we did fine today.  Took a lot of good shots, and made a lot of them.

We have a home game against Arkansas coming up.   They are good.  It will be interesting to see how we do against them.   I'm interested to see if Frank starts Minott again.   I like him.   I think he has the potential to be a really good player for us when he gets in time.    One day at a time.

Amen, Gary.  Amen.

Maybe, maybe not.  If I had COVID 2x, I’d likely not get out of bed for 3 months.  Frank busted his tail to stay healthy and come back and coach his team.

it’s been a rough year, but the dude had off-season surgery, has developed alopecia and then had COVID twice.  That he’s still standing and coaching right now seems pretty superhuman to me.  But I’m a fan, and don’t want to see him leave after this season unless he decides he’s ready to.
