South Carolina (9-3, 0-0 SEC) opens league play vs. No. 9/9 Auburn (12-1, 1-0 SEC) on Tuesday night at Colonial Life Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. (ET) with doors opening 1 hour prior. Dave Neal (pxp) and Daymeon Fishback (color) have the call for the SEC Network broadcast.

Make Auburn make jumpers.   Keep them off the FT line.  Win the rebounding.   Don't turn the ball over.  Try to score in the paint.  Do that and we can win.

 
This one is getting out of hand quickly.  They are torching us on defense

We can't guard auburn man to man.  We aren't athletic enough, or smart enough.   Terrible first half for us.   Embarrassing.  Sorry, but Wright isn't cutting it right now as a PG.   Neither is Chico.   Need to play Couisnard at PG and use Chico off the ball.  Chico can't score when he's trying to play PG and scoring is how he helps us most.  We gave up far to many layups and dunks.   If we can't make auburn shoot jumpers, we can't beat them.

 
The worst part of this is watching that scumbag coaching on the Auburn sidelines.  smh

Stevenson is shooting well, but he's the only one.  Reese okay but needs to step it up.

 
One of our biggest problems is we don't have a good PG.  auburn has 3 pg, any of which is a better pg than anyone we have.  Definate weakness for us.

ALso, Frank's famous pressure man to man has been raped all night by auburn.  I don't think frankwill ever beat pearl again.   pearl knows now how to destroy  frank's defense.  To beat auburn, you must make them shoot jumpshots.   We did not do that.   We gave up dunk after dunk on back doors.   I'm beginning to question franks intelligence.

Meh, I think we're good enough to beat most lower- to middle-tier teams and I couldn't say that about the teams of the past several seasons.

This particular team of a lot of new guys really needed to the repetition of the SC State game that didn't happen.

I think the season will go okay if we just keep digging.

I'm not suggesting they give up.  Its just one game.   I don't understand why Frank didn't adjust his defense until it was too late.   We lost the game in the first half.   AU hopefully will be the best SEC team we play this season, and I do expect USC will get better as the season goes along.   Any opponent who watches the tape of this game will try to back door our defense.   I'm not worried about getting beat by threes or two point jumpers.   What gets you beat are layups, FT, and turnovers.   And I don't think Frank's man to man defense is the best way to stop layups and FT.   We'll see how it goes at Vandy on Saturday.   A place Frank has had little success.
