Diondre Champaigne
WR Samuel Denmark of Hanahan began his day in the Shrine Bowl in Spartanburg where he had 3 catches for 50 yards including one of 33 yards. He ended his day back at his Lowcountry home announcing he will pass on an offer from USC and stick with his long-standing commitment to Virginia Tech.
Denmark posted his decision on Twitter Saturday night:
“South Carolina is my home state and would’ve been nice to play here but VT is the place for me. I’m extremely blessed to have experience the recruiting process and I’m officially closing my recruiting window. I will forever have Carolina in my heart and soul, nothing can ever change that. After sitting down and talking with my family, I’ve decided to keep my commitment and continue my education and football career at Virginia Tech.”
Denmark plans to enroll at Virginia Tech January 15th.
With Denmark off their board, the Gamecocks Saturday night offered Fort Dorchester WR Diondre Champaigne (6-3 175). This season he had 38 catches for 813 yards and 10 touchdowns
