OL [COLOR= rgb(178, 34, 34)]Shane Lemieux[/COLOR] of Yakima, WA made an unofficial visit to USC Friday with his father who lives in Lancaster, and the Gamecocks are now the leaders, though by no means are they a lock to land him at this point.
“South Carolina did make a big jump and passed up Oregon,” Lemieux said. “South Carolina is the leader but if I had to choose today, I couldn’t.”
Lemieux said he was impressed by USC’s business program and the attention he received on the visit. Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott personally took him on he tour of campus, something not done by other offensive line coaches he’s met.
“I got to know him better,” Lemieux said “Coach Elliott really knows what he’s doing. I can really tell. I like his coaching style.”
Lemieux also sat down for a meeting with Steve Spurrier. “We talked about his experiences and how much he loves South Carolina and that he’s going to be there for a while. It was a fantastic visit. You can see the expectations they have.”
Lemieux plans to visit Oregon again in April and he wants to make his decision before his season, if he can. If not, he’ll wait. He does plan take in games at both schools, Oregon for Michigan and USC for Georgia.
