Zay Brown
DB Zay Brown 6'0" 180lbs of Athens, GA spent Saturday at USC for the final Will Muschamp camp of the month and he went back to Bulldog country with an offer from the former Bulldog. Brown also has offers from Colorado State, Wake Forest, Charlotte, Georgia State, Western Kentucky, Miami of Ohio and Middle Tennessee State.
“I feel and know that’s a big offer and a hard one to come by and I’m just blessed to be able to receive it,” Brown said. “I like the Gamecocks, the coaches and all, and I would play the safety position and the nickel. They like my size and athleticism and ball skills. I remind them of Matt Elam.”
Brown has move visits coming up and he’s not ready to piece together a favorites list but the offer definitely puts the Gamecocks in good position with him.
“They stand high with it being a big one like that,” Brown said. “With the coaching staff liking my style of play and me being able to come in and have a chance of playing early is a big plus.”
Brown said Georgia is not a factor with him at this point.
Last season he had 78 tackles and 6 interceptions. Brown said he can also play safety.
Next month he plans to visit Georgia Southern, Arkansas State, UAB, Georgia State and Kennesaw State.
