USC returns home this weekend licking its wounds from two brutal weeks on the road that ended with losses against LSU and Florida. Steve Spurrier is optimistic the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium will help get the good mojo going again.
Hopefully our captains and our seniors are ready to turn this season back into a positive this Saturday,” Spurrier said. “I know our fans are fired up and ready to come. We haven’t performed well the last couple weeks. We need to regroup and get this season back rolling the way we had it going a couple weeks ago. We’re looking forward to playing Tennessee, which is a pretty good rivalry for South Carolina the times I’ve been here.”

Steve Spurrier said running back Marcus Lattimore is healthy this week and should be able to carry the full load against the Vols. Also, the HBC is handing the keys back to Connor Shaw at quarterback.
“This is his game,” Spurrier said. “If he skunks it up the first half, he’s going to skunk it up the second half. This is his game. Dylan [Thompson] was sick yesterday and didn’t show up. I’m sure he’ll be okay by the weekend. We’ll try to play to Connor’s strengths and give him the opportunity to be successful.”
USC (6-2, 4-2) will play Tennessee (3-4, 0-4) at noon Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks are a 14 point favorite.
