USC tailback target Scarlett decommits from FAU

South Carolina running back target Jordan Scarlett is no longer committed to Florida Atlantic.
Scarlett, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., revealed his decision Friday to break his pledge to the Owls. He had been committed to FAU since December.
"Just want to thank all the FAU coaches and fans that understood my decision thank you. Good luck this season," he said via Twitter.
The four-star Class of 2015 tailback told several media outlets that his top four schools, in no order, are the Gamecocks, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State.
Scarlett wants to visit USC this summer and again in the fall on an official visit. He told 247Sports that he wants to take all his official visits before announcing a new decision.
"It's an SEC school and that raises the bar," he said of the Gamecocks. "You get to compete against the best."
His friendship with linebacker Skai Moore, who is also from Fort Lauderdale, has been influential.
"They're telling me they think I could make the same kind of impact (Moore) did when he became the defensive MVP as a freshman," Scarlett said earlier this month. "They think I could come in and play early and do the same kind of thing."
USC has no running back commits in this class and did not sign one for 2014. The Gamecocks are expected to sign up to two tailbacks for 2015. Among those still being pursued:

• AJ TURNER, 5-11, 180, Clifton, Va., 3 stars | Called USC visit 'amazing'
• TY’SON WILLIAMS, 5-11, 200, Sumter, 4 stars | Top instate RB prospect likes USC, just visited with family; Aug. 1 announcement set
