March 23, 2015[/SIZE]
USC is going to get an official visit from DB Isaiah Johnson, the former starting safety from Kansas who is transferring for his final season of eligibility. Johnson said Monday night he has scheduled a visit with the Gamecocks for April 11th, the weekend of their spring game.
Johnson is a native of Cary, NC who was a starter the past two seasons for the Jayhawks. He also spent a season at Iowa Western JC after starting his college career at Western Carolina.
USC quickly reached out to Johnson after he put out the news of his transfer. He has been in touch with recruiter Joe Robinson on a regular basis since then and his interest in the Gamecocks has grown accordingly.
‘It’s very high,” he said.
Johnson has also been dealing with Louisville and Wake Forest and said he will most likely take an official visit to Louisville the week after the USC visit.
Johnson was the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2013. Last season he totaled 75 tackles with one interception.
