Allen Cater
Former Indiana commitment DE Allen Cater 6'5" 240lbs of Kennesaw, GA picked up an offer from USC on Tuesday and scheduled an official visit with the Gamecocks for January 22nd. He has taken official visits to Arkansas and Indiana and will visit North Carolina January 22nd. The offer from the Gamecocks is kind of game changer with Cater.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Robinson and the outside linebackers coach and they have been saying they want me to come up and visit and I pretty much fit in with their defense,” Cater said. “I fit the three things they are looking for: energy, effort and being positive.”
Robinson got back with Will Muschamp after talking with Cater on Monday and that conversation resulted in Muschamp signing off on the offer. In fact, he called Cater with the offer Tuesday afternoon.
“I like South Carolina and the tradition there,” Cater said. “Coach Muschamp brings a lot to the table and it’s definitely an eye opener with it being close to home.”
Cater also has been looking at Wake Forest and Illinois.
