4 star DL Josiah Coatney (6-4 265) of Douglasville, GA named Georgia, Florida State and Clemson as his top three saying, "The only reason Clemson isn't number one is because I haven't visited them yet."
Coatney has not recevied any offers but is expected several this summer. "I just transferred schools and the NCAA won't look at my academics until May," he said. "A lot of schools are telling me they're going to offer me as soon as they find out that I'm good to play." He named USC, Georgia, Auburn, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama and Vanderbilt as those schools.
Other programs showing interest include Clemson and Michigan State. "I really like Clemson a lot," said Coatney. "I like their coaches and the way they do things. I want to talk to them about coming up for a visit."
Much of his family lives in South Carolina prompting him to like the Gamecocks as well. "A lot of them only get to see me play once or twice a year," he said. "It would be nice to play for USC or Clemson. (USC) is telling me pretty much what everyone else is saying (about qualifying). They told me they like me on tape and how I play."
Coatney has visited Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Alabama and heads to FSU during spring break.
He totaled 59 tackles, 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles last season.
