USC women land another national recruit

USC women's basketball coach Dawn Staley Sunday night gained a commitment for the 2014 class from 6-4 Jatarie White of Charlotte. White made her official visit with the Gamecocks two weekends ago. She also considered North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas. White is rated the #1 center and the #14 overall recruit in her class by ProspectsNation.com. Here's the website's scouting report: "She has a polished skill set which allows her score with her back to the basket and hit the face-up jumper." White is rated by ESPN HoopGurlz as the #7 overall prospect nationally in her class. They're evaluation: "Strong, agile and aggressive center finishes vs. contact, catches and completes the play; mobile in uptempo game, executes in traffic with consistent results; the premier low-post finisher in the Class of 2014." White is the 4th commitment for the Gamecocks' 2014 class and the early signing period begins Wednesday.
