From the famous sugarcane muck of Pahokee,FL, USC may pluck a talented athlete named Rashaun Croney (6-0 175). Croney says he has offers from the Gamecocks, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Bowling Green and Mississippi State. He plays quarterback, receiver, linebacker and safety and has scored 13 touchdowns this season. He's not visited anywhere thus far this season but he was at USC's spring game last April "It was great, the fans and the coaches stood out to me," he said. "What I really liked the most was the stadium." GA Mangus is recruiting Croney for USC and he talked to him last week. "He said to get my senior film ready and get my grades up," Croney said adding that Mangus did not discuss an official visit with him. Mangus scouted Croney in the spring. Croney said the only thing standing in his way of committing to USC is a qualifying ACT score. He took the test a few weeks ago and is expecting the score next week. He said he would commit if the score is good enough and he believes USC would take it. He's also hearing from Arkansas and is interested USC is the favorite. "It's closer to home," he said. "I want to be away but not too far away." And yes, Croney does participate in the practice of chasing down rabbits in the muck around his hometown.
