Gamecock defensive back Jaylin Dickerson is out for the season, head coach Shane Beamer said Thursday.
On “Carolina Calls” radio show with Todd Ellis, Beamer said that Dickerson had surgery Thursday morning. Dickerson missed the last two games with an ankle injury.
“Jaylin Dickerson, he actually had surgery this morning,” Beamer said on the show. “Went well, traded some text messages with him before I walked in. He’s in great spirits, so he’ll obviously be done for the season.” A redshirt junior from Southern Pines, North Carolina, Dickerson represents another key loss for Clayton White’s South Carolina defense. The Gamecocks' also lost lineman Rick Sandidge and linebacker Sherrod Greene to season-ending injuries
