VIDEOS: SEC media day with coach Beamer and selected players

July 19, 2022

The Gamecocks made the rounds of the SEC Media Days on Tuesday. Head coach Shane Beamer was joined by OG Jovaughn Gwyn, WR Dakereon Joyner, and DT Zacch Pickens. Beamer was a hit with the media last year in Hoover with his mix of directness and humor, and he delivered more of the same on Tuesday. He’s excited about year two in Columbia and he welcomes the high expectations many are placing on his team.

Beamer also said that as of Tuesday, DT Rick Sandidge was the only player dealing with an injury situation that would rule him out for the start of camp on August 5th. Beamer said starting offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum will be good to go for the start of practice

Very impressive group of athletes.

Pickens on coming back to graduate, the differences between TRob and Coach White, and Luke Day = solid gold.

Great job by Cinco and Gwyn, too.

Lots of areas for improvement over last year, but I am definitely looking forward to this season.
